nikon binoculars - get creative and outdoors

Binoculars are actually two telescopes placed side by side so a viewer can see through them with both eyes. There are a lot of issues when it comes to choosing binoculars for bird watching.

The best binoculars for astronomy use are 7 x 50 or larger. For some people, astronomy will be a fun hobby, but for some dedicated people, they soon pick up the drive, and buy a telescope which is suited for astronomy and looking at objects in the night sky. When hiking or orienteering, binoculars will be very useful, but it is important to note that optics are very fragile, and so plastic lenses over glass ones, and a rugged case are probably going to be more important than high power, or the ability to use them at night.

Bird watching binoculars seem to run along the same lines. A pair of binoculars that reads 7x50 can magnify things seven times stronger than they actually are with a 50mm objective lens. You should pay attention to the coating of the lenses on your binoculars.

Usually only magnification below 5X works well for night binoculars. There is much more to astronomy then buying a telescope.
